Founder/President

Luceanna Moore, currently resides in Somerset, New Jersey along with her husband Kerlis and her four children. Luceanna was born in Croix-des Bouquette, Haiti and moved to New Jersey in 1974. Luceanna’s mother fled Haiti in 1971, desperately seeking a better life for her and her five children. Today, Luceanna is a proud graduate of Union County College and majored in Medical Laboratory Technology. Despite her background in Medical Technology her passion is to help innocent children in her home country.

Her mother being her true inspiration; Luceanna gained a passion to help save other Haitian born children. Along with her sister Marie and the help of their father who lives in Haiti, they formed an organization to help the orphaned children. This organization was formed in 2003 with a two-year personal saving fund gained by her substitute teaching jobs. This money along with donations made by church members and personal friends allowed the opening of The “Oasis” Orphanage in Haiti. Oasis stands for “Our Attempt at Saving Innocent Souls.”

Although funding was low doors managed to open for nine orphaned children in Haiti in June, 2003. While there are many more who need help, her fight for support continues so doors may open for more orphaned children. At this time, Oasis currently has a number of orphaned girls and boys on their waiting list.

Oasis for Children Inc. is dedicated to saving the lives of the forgotten children of Haiti by providing a safe environment, quality healthcare, education, love and a deep spiritual foundation in God. While we attempt each day to save more children, we rely upon God and financial assistance from those who care to share.

It is my prayer that Oasis for Children Inc. will expand to include a separate wing for boys and to reach out to the community by opening a clinic and a convenience store which is desperately needed in that community. Luceanna takes no credit for this incredible ministry, but instead gives all the glory and honor to God. We solicit your prayers for this organization to grow and to make an impact by providing a true “Oasis” in Haiti.
